The primary industries are farming and fishing while secondary industries consist mainly of steel manufacturing and petro-chemicals. Recently the province has been growing as the center for shipbuilding while it has also been fostering future industries such as bio-tech, new materials, nano-tech, aerospace and alternative/renewable energy industries.
