| Reenactment of The Great Battle of Myeongryang Fes | |||
During the afternoon of the 10th, the second day of the 2009 The Great Battle of Myeongryang Festival in Wuldolmok of Jindo Island and Haenam, there was an exciting reenactment of the famous turtle ship battle that took place off the southern shores of Korea at The Great Battle of Myeongryang 412 years ago. In that battle, 13 specially armored gunships of the Joseon kingdom faced off against 133 attacking Japanese ships and won the day helping to reverse the fortunes of the Japanese invaders and cause their eventual retreat.
