- Expected Participation : about 100 countries, 5 international organizations, 10 companies and 16 municipals
- Expected Visitors : 8 million (domestic: 7.45 million, foreign: 0.55 million)
- Project Expense : 2,038.9 billion KRW (facilities: 1731 million/ operation: 307.9 million) – including private investment of 710.7 million KRW.
- Expected Benefits : 12.2 trillion KRW in increased production/Added value of 5,700 billion KRW/80,000 new jobs
Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea
- Realizes the philosophy of sustainable development and diversity through care of the ocean
- Move toward a 21st century paradigm where human beings and the ocean co-exist
- Analyze challenges facing humanity in the 21st century such as climate change, resource exhaustion, and destruction of the environment from a new perspective
- Presents action plan of marine activities.
For successful Exposition, we will
- Construct an environment-friendly exhibition venue meeting the principal national policy of low carbon green growth.
- Foster a northeast marine tourism foundation with a top, world class exhibition center
- Secure a wide scope INFRASTRUCTURE to improve access to exhibition
- Attract private investment for high level accommodation
- Precede with a comprehensive provincial marketing campaign for a successful exhibition
When Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea takes place
- It will drive the economic growth.
- It will contribute to the development of south coast area.
- It will provide momentum for the development of marine industries and science and technology, moving Korea to be one of the world’s top five marine countries.
- It will contribute to improving the quality of life and prosperity through the Yeosu project and Yeosu proclamation.
